This September Transclyde Music and “The Big F” brings some of the guitar’s finest exponents to the beautiful Isle Of Bute: Rock, Blues, Country, Folk, Rockabilly, Experimental, Bluegrass, Flamenco, Traditional, Americana, Singer-Songwriter and much more in a weekend of concerts, workshops are, open to everyone, an open-mic competition.
The 1st Bute Guitar Festival will be part of the Scotland’s Islands initiative which is a year long programme of events designed to raise awareness of island culture, heritage and the environment.

Scottish Islands is a collaboration between the islands which will host events to appeal to both national and international visitors and aims to boost tourism and the island economies.

Transclyde Music is a constituted organisation consisting of people who have had a long association and experience with musical promotion on the Isle of Bute.

The festival will host music at various venues across the island to include a broad range of acts to appeal to a wide range of audiences and age groups. It will encourage involvement of the community by presenting a number of free public performances. The programming will aim to actively engage the local community as well as attracting visitors from the mainland.

Also included will be tuition and instrumental workshops, an open-mic competition
